The second episode explores how local engagement and collaboration could support the transition towards more sustainable, blue and circular tourism in Mediterranean destinations.
Nikoleta Papanastasouli (Living Prospects) is joined by Georgi Petkov from Romorie’s Fisheries Local Action Group and Sofia Todorova from the Municipality of Pomorie to discuss their participation as local stakeholders in the transition towards more sustainable, blue and circular tourism. In an engaging discussion the speakers explore how Pomorie could integrate blue and circular principles into its tourism model. They also discussed the existing opportunities and challenges Pomorie faces in implementing these principles, the key steps Mediterranean destinations need to take to advance towards blue and circular tourism, and the messages they would share with other destinations embarking on this transition.
This episode highlights the importance of implementing the principles of the blue and circular tourism, taking into consideration each territory’s characteristics and involving local stakeholders into the process of developing local blue and circular tourism models and action plans.
